5 Beauty Flops!

Hey Everyone!
So this post will be about beauty flops. Products I think are awful or they just didn't work for me. This is all my own opinions and I know that certain products may work for some people and not for others. This is just the products I have tried and did not like.

First Product
Now I thought this product was so awesome when I first tried it and purchased it right away, which now I regret. It is the Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss. I bought the color "Natural" which the color is not what I had a problem with. This lip gloss is so sloppy. It bleeds with liner and just doesn't stay put. It is very pigmented and takes a very long time to dry. Once it does dry it stays very nicely but in the mean time you'll be looking like a hot mess because of it bleeding and smudging all over the place. Needless to say I wore this products on my lips twice and that was that. Huge FLOP!

Second Product
I have talked about this product before in my concealer post. It is the Smashbox High Definition concealer. Just do yourself a favor and skip this product. It is not even worth trying. I was and still am so disappointed with it. It is like there is barely any pigment to it. Doesn't cover anything, in fact it accentuates it. Which for dark circles is horrifying. Major FLOP and fail!

Third Product
So sadly this is another Smashbox product. It's the photo finish lid primer. I really like the fact that this product is skin tone to help hide any veins in the eye lid but it doesn't do anything else. My shadow would crease shortly after I put it on and would wear off a few hours later. I kept trying to make it work but sadly it just wasn't doing what I needed it to do. So it is a FLOP in my books!

Fourth Product
I was interested in finally getting a BB cream. I haven't been totally on board with them thus far but wanted to try one anyway so I tried the L'OREAL Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream. I found this product did absolutely nothing for me. It says that it primes, hydrates, perfects and corrects. I could see it being more of a primer but definitely not on its own. Overall this is not a product I grab for so it is a FLOP to me!

Fifth Product
The next product that I think is a flop is the Stila smudge stick. This product actually came with my shadow palette. The stick is in the shade "tetra". I used it once and the product barely applied. The next time I tried to use it the product broke and the actual product lead came out. Now I'm not sure of all of them are like this but it just ticked me off. Packaging malfunction is a big pet peeve of mine. So it made it in my little book of FLOPS!

Please remember that these are my opinions. Not intended to offend anyone and I'm sorry if you love one of these products!

I went shopping again!

Hey Beauties!
So I did some shopping and wanted to share all the goodies I got with you guys! I am very excited about all the products I purchased!

I went to Sephora!!!
So sadly I don't get to Sephora as often as I'd like to but that is probably for the best because I would be broke. So I was so excited that my Sephora started carrying Anastasia Beverly Hills products because I have been dying to try the brow wiz. So I picked one up in the colour "soft brown". It is the most amazing brow pencil I have ever used!
Next I picked up 2 Bite Beauty products. The infamous Agave lip mask which is simply wonderful and a fruit lip scrub in "whipped cherry" which the smell alone is to die for! I could sit and smell it for hours. These products are made in Canada and are all natural food grade. Great all natural lip products!
So I have heard alot of thing about the Kat Von D products and wanted to try something from the line so I picked up a blush in the color "Bellisima". It is very pigmented and long lasting. The color is a really pretty coral shade. And the packing is simply amazing! I love it!
Also picked up two travel size products just to try before buying the full size versions. The Josie Maran 100% pure agran oil light, which I really like so far. And the Urban Decay all nighter makeup setting spray. I have only used the setting spray once and my makeup didn't move all night and it stayed flawless so I think I will be purchasing a full size ASAP.

Shopper Drug Mart
I only picked up 4 products from here but I still wanted to mention them anyways.
So I'll start with the product I have used the most since I got it and I love it! It's the Benefit better then BB Big Easy in the color "Fair". It is a liquid to powder formula and oil free. It goes on so smooth and leaves my face so soft. It has more coverage then normal BB creams which is what I was looking for. So I'm in love!
Next products I picked up that I'm in love with is the Soap&Glory Pulp Friction body scrub. It has very fine grit which I like the most and it is also foamy which is fantastic. I just love this body scrub!
I grabbed the new Maybelline Pumped Up mascara which I thought was promising because of the brush but I find it holds to much product which makes it a bit sloppy. I would like to use it more to really develop a good opinion though. So a review might be coming on that product.
I had been eyeing a blush by Physicians Formula which is their nude wear blush in the color "Natural". This blush look so amazing and pretty because of the packaging but it is not as pigmented as I would like it to be which is okay because it will be great for those summer days when just a light wash of color is wanted.

So overall I am very pleased with all the products I purchased.
Thank you so much for reading my blog post :)

May Favorites!

Hey beauties
So today I will be doing my May Favorites. Sorry it is a few days late! Lets just take a moment to freak on the fact that its already June. This year has flown by I can't even believe how fast! Ah ok, enough freaking out Lori. So the year is already half gone, oh my god! We are getting into the very warm summer months. Well where I am we are finally! If you are from Alberta, Canada you know what I'm talking about. Seems like winter just would not end for us. So thankfully it is very warm outside and we are all loving it! So this is the time to kick back and get a tan and not worry to much about makeup. So this months favorites is a short list so sorry! I will hopefully have way more next month for you guys!!

Nyx Nude Matte Eye shadows
These shadows are so pigmented and so pretty! I only own 2 right now and I need to go buy more ASAP! If you don't own any of these you need to go out and try one. You will not regret it. I have been wearing them everyday since I got them!

Nyx Mega Shine Lip gloss "Sweetheart"
This lip gloss is amazing! I have been wearing it almost everyday and have gotten compliments on it every time. It gives that frosty shine which I think is very pretty. It doesn't last the longest but because of how pretty it is I don't mind reapplying often.

Smashbox brow-to-go "Taupe"
I have been loving this brow to go! I love the color and the shape. It is almost like a triangle and just helps to get that perfect shape when doing your brows. So one side is the twist up pencil and the other side you twist off and it's a spool brush with gel! It is a perfect combo, I am not the biggest fan of the gel to be honest but for travelling it is perfect because you have you brow products in one tube!

I found this month really hard to choose favorites cause I have either have already mentioned the products I have been loving in my recent blogs or just have been sticking with my holy grail products. So those are products I love every month.

I have tried something new with my foundation though. I use of course the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr foundation which is amazing by itself but I purchased a Clarins product months ago. I believe its called Instant light complexion perfector. Which just gives you that very subtle glow. You can use it alone, or under/mixed in with your foundation. I decided to try it mixed in and I must say it looks amazing. I feel like my skin is glowing and looking very healthy! I am loving it so I think I will be mixing the two every time i wear foundation for the rest of the summer! I didn't want to use the Clarins product as one of my favorites because I only just started mixing it so it wouldn't really be fair. Maybe it will be next month but nonetheless i still wanted to give it a quick mention since my list of favs this month is very short. And I do apologize for that!

Thank you guys so much for reading my blog and following me. It is very much appreciated!!! If you would like to follow me on Instagram please do so! @loriwilliamson1990.

Until next time xo

I purchase all the products myself.

Haul Blog!

Hey Everyone!
So I have been doing some shopping lately and wanted to share everything that I have bought with you guys! I always love seeing what other people are buying and trying out so I thought this would be perfect. And I am very excited about it! I went to a few different stores that included Target, Bath & Body Works, The Shoe Company, and Shoppers Drug Mart. Remember I live in Canada so where I live here we don't have any cosmetic stores like Ulta or anything. Just Sephora, Mac, and little boutique stores. Also Shoppers does have a beauty boutique which is stocked full of awesome brands so it has high end and drug store brands! Its wonderful. Also I should probably mention that I do work at Shoppers Drug Mart as a beauty expert in the beauty boutique. So I will admit I do a lot of shopping but I'm not going to include everything in here just what I have recently picked up in one shopping time.  So lets get started!

                               Bath&Body Works
I was most excited for this stop on the shopping trip! I had been waiting to go for a while, actually ever since I used a hand soap at my sisters house. It smelled amazing and I had to have it. So when I went they had a sale one 4 hand soaps for $18 or 7 for $28. Well of course nobody needs 7 hand soaps so I decided to go for 4. Started picking them out and smelling every single one so naturally I ended up getting 7. I tried really hard to resist but what can I say I am an impulse buyer and always will be. So out I walked with 7 hand soaps lol I was actually laughing cause I had no idea where to put them all! I also purchased a whipped shimmer body cream in the scent "mad about you" which is ugh amazing! The only thing I am not to fond about is the fact that its is almost to shimmery for my liking, but it does moisturize very very well! I bought a little hand sanitizer with case as well but that's not very exciting so I don't have a picture to go along with it.

Target
So I actually went to Target first but what I got there wasn't as exciting although I did get 3 Nyx products, I was very disappointed with the selection they had and the amount of products they were sold out of. Next time I want to spree on Nyx I will be going to a Rexall because they have a huge Nyx section. Unlike the foot of empty Nyx at Target. Anyway I still got 3 products which insisted of a jumbo eye pencil in the shade 611- Yogurt, a matte eye shadow in the shade -leather and lace, and the product I am most thrilled about the Nyx mega shine lip gloss in the shade-sweetheart. I have tried the jumbo eye pencil and I am not the biggest fan to be honest so Ill probably use it as an highlighter. Haven't tried the matte eye shadow yet but it is very pigmented so I have high hopes. But the lip gloss is to die for. It is the prettiest color I am completely in love with it! It was worth going just for the lip gloss in my opinion. I got a few other things but meh they weren't anything really fun. Except my daughter finally got the movie "Frozen" and we have been watching it since. Can we all just take a moment to thank that movie for being so great!

The Shoe Company

So I just felt the need to share this because I am completely in love with my new purse and wallet. They are both Guess and I just want to continue to stare at it forever! Nothing to exciting for you guys but very exciting for me! Oh and I have never had a matching purse and wallet before so that makes it even more exciting for me. It is huge inside so I'm planning on getting a bigger makeup bag for my purse. Of course right, why wouldn't I. I mostly carry around lip products. Maybe I should do a blog post about what I carry in my bag...any thoughts on that?

Shoppers Drug Mart
I honestly thought I purchased more makeup on this shopping spree but I got shampoo and stuff like that as well. Although I didn't get much cosmetics I was still very excited about it. Especially the Benefit beauty bag. I am in love with it! It is the perfect purse size!
So ill just list the things that I purchased and ill say I love every product already. I finally bought the Philosophy Amazing Grace firming lotion. The smell is pure bliss so I figured why not! Next two things are the Revlon Color Burst lip butters in the colors "Pink lemonade" and "Creamsicle". They are very buttery and glide on nice. Next is the one product I have waited to purchase for months and months then finally I couldn't hold off anymore. Its the Benefit High Brow in the shade "Linen Pink". It is wonderful for that lift effect under the brow. Tried a new concealer which is the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in the shade "Fair". This product works very well and have got compliments since I started using it (which has only been a few days). Also picked up a Rimmel Scandal Eyes liner in the shade "Brown". I felt a needed a brown liner and this one caught my eye. It glides on smooth so we will see how it wears. I have only used it once and am wearing it as I type this so not sure of the wear of it yet. If you guys wants to know how long it does wear please leave me a comment below.
If you have any questions about these products please don't hesitate to comment below and ask. I will always answer :)

Rexall Drug Store
Now this is usually the last place I go to buy makeup but I sucked it up because they are the only store close to me who carries NYX products and after Target I wanted to purchase more. This wasn't planned and was very much spur of the moment  but I am very very happy I went cause I am in love with their products! I only got 4 products on this trip cause lets just say makeup shopping with a toddler is not the easiest. I ended up getting 2 blushes in the shade "Summer Peach" and "Dusty Rose". They are both very pigmented. I find that summer peach has more sparkles which is nice for those summer days where your not wearing much else. Dusty rose is simply beautiful! I picked up another nude matte shadow in the shade "Birthday Suit" which is a pale pink shade. So pretty! Also wanted to try their eyebrow shaper, which is like a pencil wax. I have to say I am not totally blown away with this product but it does somewhat do its job. Maybe I'm not using it right...Any tips?
All in all I love NYX products and cant wait to get more! Anyone have recommendations of what products I should try? Please comment below!!

Stila Eyeshadow Palettes

Hey guys
First I just wanted to thank you guys so much for reading my blog and supporting me. It is very appreciated! If you haven't followed me please please do! I would love more support. I was thinking about doing a giveaway once I reached a certain number of followers, what do you guys think about it? And if you like the idea, how many followers should I do it at? Would love your guys input so please comment below!

Alright, lets get into it!
I absolutely love Stila eye products and especially the shadows. They are so pigmented and you only need a little to achieve the look you want. Which is amazing cause the shadows last for so long. I really do like the single eye shadows but the palettes are where it is at! You get 10 shadows in a palette so that is all you need to create a look. Whether it is a more natural day look or a more dramatic night look. You can make it happen with EVERY palette! One reason why I love them! All the palettes come with a full size smudge stick and a little "get the look" book. Which is great and can be helpful if you are stuck on what exact look to create with the different shadows.

In the Light Palette
This one has the infamous Kitten eye shadow so naturally it is very popular. The colors are so gorgeous. Mostly shimmer shadows but it does have a few matte shadows. This palette is perfect for all those neutral girls out there! This palette comes with the smudge stick shade "Damsel" with is a darker brown.
In The Garden
So this palette has more fun shades but still has some neutral shades as well. Perfect for day and night looks! And for those girls who like to switch it up and get a little creative! Once again this has mostly shimmer but also a few matte which I really think is awesome.  This palette come with the smudge stick in the shade "Starfish" which is a really pretty green color.

In The Moment
This I must admit is my favorite palette simply for the colors. The purple colors are so pretty but not overwhelming and you can create the prettiest looks by mixing the dark purple and dark brown. Perfect for creating a purple smoky eye. It once again has shimmer and matte shades and the prettiest highlighting shade. I think everyone should own this palette! This one comes with the smudge stick in the shade " Tetra" which is a really nice dark purple color.

In The Know
This the all matte palette. I love that they have a palette that is strictly matte shades. It is perfect for the women that don't think they can pull off shimmer shadows or older ladies. You can create so many different looks. Definitely something for everyone in this palette. Even to have this palette for transition shades in the crease is perfect. (Although the other palettes have matte shades for that purpose as well). This palette has the smudge stick in the shade "Halfmoon" which is a dark grey color.

Thank you guys so much for reading. I am sorry I didn't go to much into depth with the palettes just gave more of an overview. I only did this because I believe you really need to swatch eye shadows yourself and feel the texture and see the pigment first hand. I very much do think everyone needs at least one of these palettes in their life because you wont regret it! If you do have any questions about these palettes please feel free to comment below and I will answer to the best of my knowledge.

And please if you guys want to know a little bit more about me you can read my very first blog post or you can comment and ask me :)

Recent Concealers I have Tried

Hey everyone!
This is going to be a post about recent concealers I have tried and what I think about them. I am going to be talking about 4 concealers, 3 are drugstore and 1 is higher end but not so high end that it is very expensive.

From left to right
Maybelline Fit Me concealer in #15 fair
Maybelline Dream Lumi touch highlighting concealer in Radiant
L'Oreal Touche Magique anti fatigue and illumination concealer in rose porcelain
Smashbox high definition concealer in fair

Maybelline Concealers

The first one I tried was the dream lumi highlighting concealer and I love it for giving me that extra highlight. It works amazing and blends out really nicely. I have only tried it in the color radiant but they do have two other colors which is one an ivory and the other I am not totally sure but more of a medium color. I don't really have any desire to try the other shades because I do like the radiant just for highlighting. I definitely recommend it!

Next is the Fit Me concealer. I am loving this product! I use it under my eyes for dark circles and oh my its amazing! Full coverage concealer for sure. I have seen other bloggers mention this product before so that's why I tried it and I must say thank you to everyone who posted about trying it because I found a new favorite concealer and its drug store! How awesome is that! I guess the only not so great thing about this concealer is it does crease a little so make sure you lock it up with a setting powder and your good to go!! Highly recommend this product to all you beauties out there!
I do believe they have 4 colors to choose from as well.

L'OREAL True Match Touche Magique Anti Fatigue and Highlighting concealer
This concealer I purchased to use as another highlighting concealer but I did want to try it as an under eye concealer. I have used it for both and much prefer it as a highlighting concealer. It doesn't do much under the eyes. Didn't hide my dark circles or anything but that's okay cause I got my fit me concealer! I do like this product to layer a tiny bit on top of the fit me concealer just for that extra brightness. I think that this product and the Maybellinee dream lumi are very similar. As to which on I prefer more I am not sure. Honestly I quite like both products so I recommend both! Not that you really need both. Unless you are a makeup junkie like myself, then you just need it all hehe.

Smashbox High Definition Concealer
Okay guys im sorry to say this but I really hate this product. I feel bad saying that but its the truth! it does absolutely nothing! I would say its like a light coverage without hiding anything. I used it under my eyes and its like it made the dark circle worse. I was so disappointed. I don't even have anything else to say about this product other then I do not recommend it. Since its not drug store I still want to use it so I use it when doing my brows. About all it's good for now!

PurMinerals Dirty Girl Mudd Masque

Hey everyone!
So its been a while since I have posted anything. Sadly life got crazy for a bit but hopefully I will be back to doing posts more frequently. If there is anything you guys want a review on or if you want me to do a haul blog please comment and don't forget to follow me! you can also follow me on instagram @loriwilliamson1990.

My Opinion!
Alright so ill just get into it! This is a review on the dirty girl detoxifying mudd masque by PurMinerals. I was incredibly excited to try this product. I have been using it for about a month now and though I do like it, I am just not seeing how it is benefiting my skin. I use it 2-3 times a week and each time I try and see how its helping but sadly it is not. Maybe it is just not the right type of mask for my skin, who knows. I will continue to use it since it is a little expensive so I really hope it does in the end help my skin a little. The best thing is can say is it leaves my skin soft afterwards, but then again so do other masks.

About the product!
It says it unclogs pores, clarifies and exfoliates. Eliminates excess oil, dirt and impurities while creating a smoother looking complexion. Its supposed to be non drying and non irritating. I do believe this product to be non drying cause I do have somewhat dry skin and it doesn't dry it out so that is great. As for the unclogging pores part I don't find it helps much in that department. Maybe I don't have enough issues with my skin to be using this product but oh well got a review out of it. It is a great exfoliating mask so I think its worth it to continue to use it.

Will I Repurchase??
Sadly i probably wont be repurchasing this product. I like what it says it will do but not what I see it doing, which is not a whole lot! If anyone has recommendation of great masks to try please comment below I would love to hear them!

I hope this review helps some of you!
Take care guys!
